Spending Less Time On the Internet...

hasn't made me a better blogger, but it has made me a better mother.

I haven't written much, but I have baked more cookies,

read more books,

and caught up on the laundry in a way that might be called semi-permanent.

I've snuggled more, taught more, and argued less.

I'm thinking more clearly, and struggling less with the details of life.

It hasn't been easy, and there have been some days that I have failed. It's not as though I haven't had anything to write about...

...but other things have become more important. I certainly don't think I'm done writing, but I think I'm at a point of "less writing" until I can get some other areas of life into focus.

When I can write, I will. When I can't, I won't...and I won't hold it against myself. Perhaps, in this way, my writing will be more Spirit-led.

I'd love to share some of the things that God has been teaching me during this time, but it will have to wait.

It will have to wait.

I know exactly where you are coming from. I deactivated my facebook account for this very reason. And writing comes...when it comes.

My children are grown now, all except the oldest, my hubby. They always seem to need more care than the children do, especially when they are skinny and love to eat. After 34 years, I am still trying to fill him up. When my children were younger, I tried to write for magazines and it was very difficult. The magazines came out once a month and trying to get an article once a month seemed a stretch. You are so right to focus on your children for they are the treasures of tomorrow. When I see how many children even in Christendom are raising themselves it is a sad thing to see for with each generation we seem to get farther away from the things of God.

There are 9 years between my son and daughter. With my son I was not paying as much attention to the calling of being a keeper at home. Praise the Lord, He got hold of me and made me realize just because I was home my mind was not set on the home. It was set on everything but what it was suppose to be. My son struggles with his faith as we were more social and out of the home more than we were in it. With my daughter, the Lord impressed upon my spirit and soul to be a keeper at home one must have both the mind and body at home.

There are a lot of keepers at home who are on the Internet more than paying attention to the home. Some are like us, the economics seems to be forcing choices we would not be making if things were better. My husband’s work hours have been cut to the bare bones, his health is not as good as it once was, so we have to find other ways to add to the income. It seems when age creeps up on you sometimes so does health issues. A friend told us that growing old is not for cowards, they are right.

But as like older folks, I digress, God bless you for putting your home and children first and may He also bless you financially so you do not have to have the pressures of such.
Mrs. J.

It's important to keep things in perspective, isn't it.

Snuggling a little one is much more rewarding too!
